What’s on the agenda next month? Well as we approach summer 2017 we can expect the latest release from Marvel, Guy Richie’s attempt at a local British legend and some slow-motion swimsuit action for sure!

We’re all going to be Ooga-chakaing our way to the cinemas to see this next instalment of the GOTG franchise. The dysfunctional band of adventurers return but this time, as we all predicted, they not only have to save the galaxy again, but decipher the mystery that is Peter Quill’s parentage! Allying with some old foes, combating aliens and skipping around the focal point of them infinity stones, we can bet they’ll be a few hints to the upcoming marvel mega-station “Infinity War” as Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana and the rest of the cast, including Vin Diesel as a new Baby Groot, all revisit our screens for more swashbuckling, spacey fun that is guaranteed to be set against another epic soundtrack!

King Arthur: Legend of the Sword – May 19th

Expect violent battle sequences and some cheesy dialogue; welcome to Richie’s take on the folklore of King Arthur! With his birthright stolen and brought up in the slums of Londonium, this film stars “Sons of Anarchy’s” Charlie Hunnam as the hero who wields the infamous sword Excalibur, sparking an uprising against his evil murderous uncle King Vortigern, played by Jude Law. It has the aroma of a Richie franchise containing snappy visuals, the dynamic bursts of slow motion and freeze-frames and that same gritty edge we affiliate to the characters in “Snatch” and “Lock, Stock” just watch out for the barrel of monkeys in this one.

Alien: Covenant – May 19th

Yes, the sequel to Prometheus arrives next month to revive the chest-popping ‘Alien’ saga! Ridley Scott is back to direct this sci-fi horror that looks to bridge the gap between the Prometheus and Alien films. Covenant refers to the ship that a new crew are travelling aboard, bound for a mysterious planet they think is paradise…will they never learn! What they find is the complete opposite of a utopia and instead of embracing their surroundings, the crew must do one crucial thing if they hope to survive: run! This film looks like the most terrifying Alien product yet as we see a glimpse of a new species of Xenomorph alongside some familiar faces i.e. David Fassbender resurfaces as android David as well as another android we haven’t met named Walter, whose body is thankfully still intact! So stay tuned for Alien: Covenant, it looks to be a disgustingly frightening experience!

Baywatch – May 25th

No one is ‘standing in the darkness’ or ‘afraid to step into the light’ for new comedy thriller Baywatch. The big-screen reboot of the 90’s TV phenomenon that made teenage boys everywhere fall in love with swimming, dives into cinemas next month with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson filling the flip-flops of The Hoff, leading his team of outrageously beautiful lifeguards as they strive to rescue and protect our beaches! Zac Efron co-stars as a lazy, womanizing new recruit, butting heads with Johnson through a series of one-liners and a mist of testosterone. This film does appear very fun and unrestricted from the red band trailer, containing a multitude of 4 letter words and of course swimsuits!
